There’s the Carolina Hotel, the Village Chapel (who’s wedding bells ring throughout the day), and a 200-year-old log cabin housing the Sandhills Woman’s Exchange.

The Lifestyle

In a charming nod to the past, the Aberdeen Historic District includes 88 acres and more than 100 buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
 
 
There are also several charter and private schools — The O’Neal SchoolMoore MontessoriSTARS Charter School, Pope John Paul II Catholic School, The Academy of Moore charter school, Sandhills Classical Christian School, and STARS Charter School. Moore County is also home to Sandhills Community College, one of the best community colleges in the state.

The village is home to the world renowned Pinehurst Resort and Country Club with nine golf courses, including the famed No. 2 Course designed legendary golf course architect Donald Ross that hosted the 1999, 2005 and 2014 U.S. Open Championships. Pinehurst Resort also has the distinction of being the first anchor site of the U.S. Open Golf Championships, with the next one set for 2024. Future dates includes 2029 (which will also include the Women’s Open in back-to-back weeks), 2035, 2041 and 2047. The United State Golf Association is also establishing a second home in Pinehurst and relocating the World Golf Hall of Fame here in 2024.
 
Pinehurst is also home to Pinewild Country Club and the Country Club of North Carolina.
