Meet David Sinclair

David joined the Gentry Team in 2020 after a 37-year media career based entirely in Moore County. He began as morning show host and news and public affairs director for WOZ-FM Radio, later spent seven years as The Fayetteville Observer’s Moore County correspondent, and then served for 20 years as managing editor of The Pilot newspaper in Southern Pines, earning numerous awards for writing and photography.

Before becoming a licensed real estate agent, David spent six years as the Gentry Team’s marketing coordinator, managing print and social media efforts, photographing new listings, and creating virtual tours of homes. That experience gave him valuable insight into the real estate business and reinforced the importance of building strong client relationships — a strength that will serve him well as a buyer’s agent on the team.

Growing up in Moore County and spending his entire professional life here, David knows the area well and is widely recognized throughout the community.

David has also been deeply involved in the community throughout his professional life, serving on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including the United Way of Moore County, the former Sandhills Food Bank, Friend to Friend, and Family Promise of Moore County. He is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of the Sandhills, serves on its board of directors, and is the incoming club president. He is also a graduate of the Moore County Leadership Institute through the Moore County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the board of the Miss Moore County-Miss Sandhills Scholarship Organization.

David is a member of Southern Pines First Baptist Church, where he serves as a deacon and sings in the choir.

An avid photographer, David focuses especially on sports and performing arts at Pinecrest High School, his alma mater. The school honored him by naming him the “Official Photographer of the Pinecrest Patriots.”

David looks forward to using his deep knowledge of the area to help buyers find the right home in the place he has always called home.
